Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated Inspector to join our Ferrous team. The shift times are Monday-Friday, on a rotating bi-weekly shift basis of 6:30am-3pm and 12:30pm-9pm . This position requires solid attention to detail, knowledge of ferrous/non ferrous metals, and the ability to work in a quick-paced setting.

What you’re responsible for:
Conducting thorough inspections of incoming and outgoing materials to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
Identify and segregating non-conforming materials, such as contaminants or prohibited items
Utilizing appropriate tools and equipment to measure and verify the weight, dimensions, and composition materials
Collaborating with the operations team to coordinate the movement and storage of materials within the yard
Communicating and reporting any deviations from quality standards

To join our team:




You have previous experience in a similar role within the metal recycling industry, specifically in materials inspection, is highly desirable
You have knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, their properties, and common contaminants or impurities
You have familiarity with relevant tools and equipment used for measurement and inspection, such as scales, callipers, magnet testers, etc.
You have the ability to work in a physically demanding setting, including lifting and moving heavy objects
You have proficient in using computer systems and software for data entry and record keeping
You are comfortable working in a heavy industrial workplace and being exposed to various weather conditions
