St. Louis Adult Learning and Continuing Education Centre
The Waterloo Catholic District School Board operates St. Louis Adult Learning and Continuing Education Centre, offering a recognized Hairstyling Training Program that is endorsed by the Ontario Ministry of Education and by employers in the region.

General Description of the Program
St. Louis' Hairstyling Training Program is recognized by the Ontario Ministry of Education and by numerous employers in the region as a quality program.

Teaching Responsibilities

Maintain a safe, inclusive, and productive learning workplace during the regular teacher’s absence.

Deliver prepared lesson plans and supervise students in both classroom and salon settings.

At the end of the day, provide a summary report to the teacher.

Maintain all health and safety protocols in the salon.

Provide instructional support to students to ensure academic progress.





Develop lesson plans and assist with the ongoing assessment of student work and provide feedback as required during multi‑day assignments.

Minimum Requirements

Hold a current Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of Qualification. (If no candidates with an OCT apply, other candidates will be considered).

Eligible to work in Canada.

Available for in‑person classes.

Desirable Assets

Have senior qualifications in the subject area (Technological Studies – Hairstyling and Aesthetics).

Previous teaching experience.

Hold a current Ontario Trade Certification of Qualification as a Hairstylist.

St. Louis Main Campus, 80 Young St., Kitchener

Program Hours
Monday to Friday 8:45 AM – 11:45 AM & 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM

Teaching Format
Compressed Schedule (each class is 3 hours per day)

Hours of Work
As needed

Rate of Pay
$49.07 per hour

Applicants are not required to be Catholic.
