Overview of the role
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Electrician is responsible for the installation and maintenance of electrical and PLC systems in the plant.

Schedule
12 hour Rotation – 6 – 6 (Weekdays, days, nights, and weekends)

Salary
$48.12 per hour + Trade Premium $1/hr, Shift Premium for hours worked from 6pm–6am $1.20/hr

Key Responsibilities

Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.

Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, lighting and other electrical components.

Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.

Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switch meters, regulators and reactors.

Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries, hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems.

Troubleshoot,



maintain and repair industrial electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices.

Conduct preventative maintenance programs and keep maintenance records.

Maintain and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices.

Communicate on a constant basis with plant personnel.

Ensure that all work is performed safely while following OH&S;, WCB, Food Safety and other company regulations and procedures.

Qualifications

Electrician with a journeyperson ticket/license or certificate of qualification.

Excited and willing to work day & night shift (6-6) including weekends.

Proven hands‑on experience within food industry or high‑speed packaging plant (preferred).

Electrical and PLC troubleshooting experience.

Able to work collaboratively with all departments.

Highly motivated initiator, able to work independently with minimum supervision.

Effective communication skills, able to complete computer‑based workorders.
