Would you like to be a part of Canada’s leading and progressive Business Law firm? McMillan has an chance for a full‑time Litigation Law Clerk in our Toronto office.
What You’ll Do
Draft pleadings, affidavits, court applications and bills of costs
Document management, including identification, collection, review, summary and preparation of document lists
Manage court filing deadlines, bring‑forwards and coordination of court materials
Prepare for and upload documents to Case Centre (Ontario)
Analyze and summarize complex information to support litigation strategy and matter management
Support discovery and trial preparation, including coordinating witness interviews
Prepare and file Writs of Seizure and Sale, Writ Renewals and garnishments
Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other professionals by telephone or email
Perform other law‑clerk duties as required
What You Bring
A Law Clerk/Paralegal diploma or degree from an accredited university or college program, or equivalent experience
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Litigation Law Clerk role
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, supported by sound judgment and professionalism
Strong knowledge of court rules, procedures and litigation processes
Experience with construction liens (considered an asset)
Strong technology skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel,
PowerPoint and e‑Discovery tools
Experience using new technology, including AI tools responsibly, to support legal work
Experience with iManage, IntApp Time or similar document management and time‑keeping software
Experience with ACL or similar software used to create court documents (asset)
Detail‑oriented, highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
Collaborative, client‑focused mindset and ability to build positive relationships with lawyers, colleagues, clients and external stakeholders

Salary range: $95,000‑$105,000 annually. Salary will be determined based on prior experience and skill set.
