It is a great place to live and work if you enjoy the outdoors, sports, concerts, the arts and other big city amenities or technology.This position may be eligible for Freeport-McMoRan immigration work visa sponsorship.What You Will DoUnder close supervision, assist in mining geomechanical engineering processes including pit slope & stockpile stability, instrumentation and serve as resource for geomechanical information and analysis.Overall property slope management functions for pit slopes, stockpiles, and tailingsManages and provides geotechnical project oversight and review relating to outside consultants, pit slope water control, structural geology, design slope angles and interfacing with mine design and planningManage and review slope stability data collection, analysis and remedial work including slope monitoring data processing, rock strength parameters, geologic structures, slope control blast designs, and slope angle reviewsCommunicate accurate, timely and relevant slope stability and geotechnical information to mine and site personnelManage,



conduct and communicate the results of inspections of pit walls, stockpiles, and site access roadsProactively seek improvements to the safe mining of mine reserves relating to slope monitoring, slope maintenance, slope and catch bench designs, blasting, geotechnical data acquisition and analysesDevelop, maintain and implement strategic plans to enhance the mine’s slope stability programMay represent the site on company sponsored steering teams related to geotechnical or mine slope stability effortsShow understanding in the usage of appropriate software (MS Office, AutoCAD) and Geotechnical data analysis, Mintec’s MineSight (or equivalent)Perform other duties as requiredWhat You Bring To FreeportNote: Education and/or Degree type along with the minimum qualifications below will determine the position for which you will be considered.Minimum Qualifications for Geomechanical Engineer IB.S. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
