Senior Paralegal – Civil Litigation / EnforcementLocation: Remote / Hybrid (Downtown Toronto-based)Compensation: $80,000–$90,000Type: Full-TimeThe OpportunityWe are seeking a seasoned, highly capable Paralegal to support a busy civil litigation and enforcement-focused practice. This role is designed for someone who can operate independently, manage complex and high-volume files, and ensure matters move forward without constant direction. You will act as a core execution partner to lawyers — owning procedural steps, tracking deadlines, preparing court-ready materials, and keeping files advancing. This is not a junior support role; it requires judgment, urgency, and accountability.Key Responsibilities:File Ownership & ExecutionIndependently manage a large volume of active civil litigation and enforcement filesAnticipate procedural steps and ensure files progress without delayMaintain complete, organized, and audit-ready electronic filesIdentify bottlenecks and escalate issues proactivelyAdvanced Legal Document PreparationDraft and prepare affidavits, pleadings, motions, notices, enforcement documents, and correspondencePrepare garnishments, writs, motions to enforce, and related court materialsReview documents for accuracy, completeness, and procedural compliance before filingCourt & Procedural ManagementHandle electronic and in-person court filings end-to-endLiaise directly with court staff, process servers, and third-party vendorsMaintain litigation calendars, court schedules,
and limitation trackingClient & Stakeholder CommunicationAct as a key point of contact for routine client and third-party communicationsProvide qualified status updates and manage expectationsCoordinate service, information gathering, and enforcement logisticsPractice Support & Process ImprovementConduct procedural and legal research and summarize findingsAssist with file strategy discussions by identifying procedural optionsImprove workflows, templates, and file-management processesRequired Qualifications:Paralegal diploma/certificate from a recognized Ontario institutionLicensed (or eligible to be licensed) with the Law Society of Ontario3+ years of experience as a paralegal in civil litigation, enforcement, or collectionsStrong working knowledge of Small Claims Court and civil procedureProven ability to manage files independently and proactivelyExcellent written communication and document drafting skillsHighly organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable in a remote or hybrid environmentPreferred ExperienceExtensive Small Claims Court experienceCivil enforcement, creditor-side litigation, or collections backgroundExperience supporting lawyers with heavy caseloadsProficiency with e-filing platforms and legal practice management systemsWhat Success Looks LikeFiles move forward without lawyer promptingDeadlines are tracked and met flawlesslyCourt materials are accurate, complete, and timelyLawyers trust that files are being actively managedClients and third parties receive prompt, professional communicationWhy This Role WorksSenior-level responsibility and autonomyCompetitive compensation for an experienced paralegalRemote / hybrid flexibilityA fast-paced, execution-focused legal environmentOpportunity to be a key operational driver within the practice
