Candidates accountable for this post are responsible for providing instruction on a wide variety of group fitness and fitness-related classes for identified programs at the City of Ottawa working this post.
Job requirement Candidates must have completed completion of Grade 10 and Current Fitness Certification from a recognized fitness certification organization to be eligible for this post.
They must have a minimum of 6 months of experience or equivalent apprenticeship to be eligible for this post.
Candidates must attain a Fitness Instructor certificate,



for example:- canfitpro, YM-YWCA, Ontario Fitness Council or other recognized certifications.
Candidates must have Current Standard First Aid, CPR and AED certification to be eligible for this post.
They must have prior AODA Customer Service/IASR Training and must have knowledge and certificate of corporate and Departmental policies, guidelines and directives.
They must have City of Ottawa emergency response procedures and must know about applicable health and safety legislation to be eligible for this post.
Work setting Candidates must have the knowledge base, skills and training necessary to lead a variety of fitness classes.
They must attain the ability to speak clearly and actively listen and must be able to maintain a fun and safe environment to get preferred for this post.
They must have a prior understanding of the community fitness environment and need to be preferred for this post.
