THE ROLE

STRIVE is working with a well-established organization seeking a Forklift Operator to join their team in Milton, ON.

You will be responsible for safely and efficiently loading, unloading, moving, picking, and staging building materials throughout the warehouse and yard. This role involves working with inbound and outbound goods, operating a forklift on flat deck trucks and vans, and ensuring customer orders are accurately prepared. This opportunity is ideal for a safety-focused and reliable individual with strong attention to detail who enjoys working in a fast-paced warehouse workplace.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Safely load and unload building materials on flat deck trucks and vans
- Operate a forklift to efficiently move materials throughout the warehouse and yard
- Accurately pick and stage customer orders
- Double-check loads before they leave the yard
- Provide excellent customer service to customers and truck drivers
- Communicate with Operations, Sales, and Administration to ensure optimal team performance
- Scan and track the movement of goods to their correct locations
- Maintain accurate and timely updates within the Warehouse Management System (WMS)
- Participate in the ongoing organization of materials to maintain an efficient and organized warehouse workplace
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Follow company safety policies and procedures

REQUIREMENTS

- Previous forklift experience loading and unloading flat deck trucks and vans
- Safety-focused with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment
- Physically fit with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
- Working knowledge of RF scanners in a WMS environment is an asset
- Knowledge of building materials is an asset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
