Position Overview
Mercedes-Benz Vancouver is seeking a Parts Advisor to join our team, reporting directly to the Parts Manager. The Parts Advisor plays a critical role in supporting dealership operations by providing exceptional service to both internal technicians and external customers through the accurate sourcing, selling, and distribution of automotive parts and accessories. This position contributes to the overall success of the Parts Department by maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting efficient service operations, and ensuring customers receive timely and skilled assistance. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong product knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering an outstanding customer experience in a fast-paced dealership environment
The expected annual salary for this position is $60,000.00-$68,000.00.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide prompt, courteous, and professional service to retail, wholesale, and internal customers
- Assist technicians and customers in identifying and sourcing the correct replacement parts and accessories
- Utilize manufacturer catalogs, electronic parts systems, and other resources to accurately identify parts requirements
- Process parts sales transactions, including preparing invoices, sales orders, and related documentation
- Receive and manage telephone, email, and in-person parts inquiries and orders
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with inventory control, stock replenishment, and cycle counts
- Order parts from suppliers and manufacturers while tracking backorders and delivery status
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and completeness
- Process returns, warranty parts, exchanges, and credits in accordance with company and manufacturer policies
- Recommend alternative parts or solutions when requested items are unavailable
- Promote and sell parts, accessories, and related products to maximize customer satisfaction and departmental performance
- Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions and customer orders
- Collaborate closely with Service, Sales, and other dealership departments to ensure operational efficiency
- Maintain a clean, organized,
and safe parts department environment
- Stay current on product knowledge, manufacturer updates, and dealership procedures
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management
Qualifications Required
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an automotive parts department required
- Experience with dealership parts operations and inventory management considered an asset
- Knowledge of automotive systems, components, and replacement parts required
- Experience using electronic parts catalogs and dealership management systems preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to accurately identify, source, and recommend automotive parts
- Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with computerized inventory, parts catalog, and dealership management systems
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Professional, dependable, and customer-focused attitude
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
