Senior Transport Planner - London / Surrey (Hybrid)
Location: London/ Surrey

Salary: £40,000/£50,000

Penguin Recruitment is proud to partner with a leading UK consultancy in the search for an experienced Senior Transport Planner to join their growing team. This is an excellent chance to work on a diverse range of development projects across the UK while benefiting from a hybrid working environment based in London or Surrey.

Our client specialises in transport planning and infrastructure design across a wide variety of sectors, including residential, retail, leisure, office, distribution, industrial, education, healthcare, and mixed-use developments. Their team delivers tailored solutions throughout the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and assessment through to implementation and supervision, with a strong reputation for providing cost-effective infrastructure solutions.

Your responsibilities

transport assessments

transport statements

feasibility studies for a range of development projects

manage transport modelling and travel plans

contribute to highway design input

coordinate with drainage and flood risk specialists

prepare technical reports

present findings to clients and stakeholders

provide expert advice during meetings, consultations and public inquiries

mentor junior team members





support project management activities

contribute to bids and proposals

maintain strong client relationships to ensure high-quality project delivery

Requirements

Strong experience in transport planning, including the delivery of transport assessments, transport statements, and travel plans for development projects.

Proficiency in transport modelling and related analytical tools, with the ability to interpret data and provide practical recommendations.

Excellent communication skills, including technical report writing, presentations, and stakeholder engagement.

Degree (or equivalent) in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related discipline.

Professional accreditation with CIHT, TPS, ICE, or working towards accreditation is highly desirable.

Experience with UK transport policy, design standards, and development planning processes, including liaison with local authorities and public bodies.

Competence with relevant software, including junction and network modelling, GIS, and MS Office.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a hybrid working environment, with excellent organisational skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
