DISTRICT ITINERANT TEACHER
FTE Temporary part-time Learning Enhancement Teacher position (Literacy), beginning September 8, 2026 to June 30, 2027.
This position will largely focus on supporting the implementation of the Fountas and Pinnell Leveled Literacy Intervention kits in all K-12 schools across our District.
Learning Enhancement Teachers (Coaches) work in collaboration with both enrolling and non-enrolling teachers, administrators, and educational assistants to support student learning.
This position offers flexibility in terms of scheduling of days. The schedule will be built collaboratively with the Assistant Superintendent and the successful candidate.
Other duties as assigned within this role include, but are not limited to, instructional planning (with classroom teachers), modeling direct instruction to students, co‑teaching with classroom teachers, assessment of student learning, modeling classroom management and routines, providing program implementation strategies for IEP goals, contributing to student assessment documents, reporting processes - including Learning Updates (modelling best practice).
Required Qualifications
Training and experience working with grade-level students.
Understanding of and ability to support the implementation of the Fountas and Pinnell LLI Kits
Experience with adapting materials, resources, assessments, and learning outcomes for student needs.
Valid BC Teaching Certificate and familiarity with the BC Curriculum.
Teaching category five or higher.

The starting annual salary for this full time teacher position ranges from $66,604 - $116,190 , with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
