The Vice President position in the Loan Structuring & Syndication (“LSS”) team at National Bank of Canada Capital Markets (“NBCCM”) will be focused on structuring responsibilities for transactions in the project financing and infrastructure sectors, working closely with the relevant business lines to structure and present financing proposals. This role offers the opportunity to be regarded as an impactful partner supporting the bank’s growth strategy in these sectors. NBCCM is consistently ranked among the top institutions in Canadian loan markets, and among the top 10 North American project finance institutions.
In this role, you will join a high-performing, collaborative team and leverage the range of NBCCM’s capital markets products. LSS team members interact with wide variety of external and internal stakeholders, including customers, lending and investment banking coverage teams and syndicate banks. Your Job Structuring loan transaction proposals in partnership with our project finance and infrastructure lending origination teams to meet client needs, as well as assisting in the presentation, negotiation and execution of those proposals
Overseeing preparation of pitch books and marketing materials for existing and prospective clients, including financing terms, syndication strategies, capital structure considerations, and benchmarking analysis
Developing business relationships with strategic clients and lending relationships
Collaborating with internal stakeholders and developing relationships with corporate banking and syndication teams across financial institutions
Contributing to special projects and initiatives as required
Your Team National Bank of Canada (“NBC”) is one of Canada’s leading financial institutions,

The LSS team is a group of 25+ professionals responsible for the origination, structuring, pricing, and distribution of syndicated loans. The team works closely with internal partners and external stakeholders, including clients, coverage teams, syndicate lenders, credit adjudicators, and agency groups. NBCCM has established itself as a leading force in the Canadian syndicated loan market, with nearly 250 Lead Left mandates and a consistent top 3 ranking among bookrunners for new money.
Prerequisites 6-8 years of banking industry experience
Experience with project financing and infrastructure transactions
Established transaction execution and/or project management skills
Proven ability to use judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given constraints
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight timelines in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated initiative, resourcefulness, and sound judgment
Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and concisely
Attitude focused on teamwork and collaboration
Well-developed computer skills,
with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with artificial intelligence tools is an asset
Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g. B.Comm., B.B.A.). Professional designation (e.g. CPA, CFA) or graduate degrees (e.g. MBA) are assets.
