The Opportunity
This is a hands-on field position for someone who enjoys working with equipment, solving problems and building and repairing things.

The ideal candidate will have experience with welding and fabrication, combined with strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to Install overhead cranes, troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment.

You will work on overhead cranes, hoists and other material handling systems, both at customer facilities and in our Cambridge shop.

Qualifications

Inspect, service, maintain and repair overhead cranes, hoists and material handling equipment

Install overhead cranes, hoists and related material handling systems

Perform welding, fabrication,



modifications and repairs as required

Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine appropriate repairs

Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics and equipment documentation

Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections

Work at elevated heights using scissor lifts, boom lifts, man cages, scaffolding and ladders

Travel to customer facilities using a company service truck

Safely tow and maneuver trailers when required

Complete service reports, inspection forms and brief written reports

Work in RMH's Cambridge shop on equipment, fabrication and repair projects

Communicate professionally with customers and represent RMH positively on customer sites

Follow all company and customer safety requirements, including Lockout/Tagout procedures

What we’re looking for
The ideal candidate will have:

Robust welding and fabrication experience

Approximately 3 years or more of experience servicing, inspecting, installing or repairing overhead cranes and hoists is preferred, but not required

Ability to perform basic fabrication, fitting and equipment modifications

Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving skills





Ability to troubleshoot equipment and complete the repair .

Experience working with industrial equipment, machinery or material handling systems

Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems

Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics

A background as a Welder, Millwright, Industrial Mechanic, Electrician, Mechanic or similar skilled trade is an asset

Valid driver's licence and clean driving record

Ability to safely operate and tow a trailer

Basic computer literacy

Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-focused attitude

Direct experience with overhead cranes and hoists is preferred but not required.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have a strong welding and fabrication background, combined with excellent mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

If you have the right hands-on skills and a willingness to learn, RMH will provide training and support to develop your crane and hoist inspection, service and repair expertise.

Working Hours

Monday-Friday, primarily day shift

Typical start time: 7:30 a.m.

Approximately 40 hours per week, with additional hours as required

Occasional Saturday/weekend work may be required

Must be prepared to remain on site when necessary to safely complete a job

Participation in a fair share of after-hours and weekend service calls is required
