Job Summary: The Senior Test Lead will oversee and execute comprehensive quality assurance activities for the modernization and expansion of the Provincial Health Services Directory (PHSD).

This role involves planning, coordinating, and leading testing efforts across functional, integration, API, interoperability, automation, performance, security, accessibility, and user acceptance testing.

The position requires deep expertise in healthcare application testing, including FHIR, SMART on FHIR, HL7, Smile CDR, AWS Health

Lake, REST APIs, and cloud-native AWS services, ensuring all platform enhancements meet rigorous functional, technical, and security standards prior to production deployment.

Responsibilities: Develop and maintain PHSD test strategy, test plans, schedules, and quality assurance approaches.

Lead and coordinate functional, system integration, API, interoperability, regression, performance, accessibility, security, and user acceptance testing.

Design, develop, and execute automated UI regression suites using Playwright.

Create and maintain Postman and vREST collections for REST and FHIR APIs and healthcare integration workflows.

Validate Smile CDR functionality including FHIR repositories, resource validation, search operations, terminology services, and interoperability workflows.

Test AWS Health

Lake integrations involving data ingestion, synchronization, retrieval, and FHIR resource processing.

Validate provider directory data management workflows and real-time synchronization with Master Data Management and Provider Registry systems.

Validate Open

Search provider directory search functionality, including filtering, ranking, relevance, and FHIR search parameters.

Test SMART on FHIR authentication,



OAuth2/OIDC authorization, JWT processing, and role-based access control.

Test integrations with hospital information systems such as Epic, Oracle Health (Cerner), MEDITECH, and other provincial digital health systems.

Coordinate defect triage, track testing progress, quality metrics, automation coverage, and release readiness reporting.

Support production implementation, warranty validation, post-production verification, and operational readiness activities.

Prepare comprehensive testing documentation, knowledge transfer materials, and operational testing procedures.

Required Skills & Certifications: Senior test leadership experience in large-scale healthcare or digital transformation projects.

Expertise in developing test strategies, plans, cases, traceability matrices, execution reports, defect reports, and release readiness assessments.

Hands-on functional testing experience with Java/Spring Boot applications, React applications, REST APIs, and database-driven systems.

Proficiency in automated UI testing with Playwright, including regression and CI/CD integration. API testing expertise using Postman and vREST, including REST and FHIR APIs, assertions, and automated regression testing.

Extensive knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards and technologies including FHIR R4/R4B, HL7 v2, SMART on FHIR, OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, and RESTful healthcare APIs.





Experience validating Smile CDR functionality, including FHIR repositories, search operations, terminology services, and interoperability workflows.

Testing experience with AWS Health

Lake integrations and healthcare data synchronization.

Validation of provider directory search using Open

Search and FHIR search parameters.

Experience testing integrations with Provider Registry, Master Data Management platforms, hospital information systems, and provincial digital health systems.

Robust skills in defect management, stakeholder communication, documentation, and knowledge transfer.

Preferred Skills & Certifications: Experience testing Smile CDR production implementations.

Experience with AWS Health

Lake implementations.

Knowledge of validating FHIR Implementation Guides, terminology services, and interoperability conformance.

Experience testing Open

Search implementations for provider and healthcare service discovery.

Familiarity with event-driven architectures using Event

Bridge, SNS, SQS, and FHIR event notifications.

Special Considerations: Must coordinate across multiple teams including development, architecture, interoperability, operations, and business stakeholders.

Role requires thorough documentation, defect triage, and quality reporting.

Hybrid work location with onsite presence as needed.

Work involves strict adherence to healthcare privacy, security, and operational standards.

Scheduling: Standard work schedule with flexibility for coordination across teams and production support activities.

May require involvement in production implementation and post-production validation phases.
