Incorporated Business Rate: $80-85 per hour. 12-month contract.

Hybrid work, 37.50 hours per week.

Periodic weekend and after-hours work may be required to support project implementations and system upgrades.

Possibility of on-call support may be required.

Occasional travel between company locations may be required depending on work assignments.

Responsibilities: Lead and participate in the design, development, deployment of Java REST web service APIs and microservices using Docker and Kubernetes.

Ensure service designs follow approved architecture.

Learn and incorporate emerging API technologies into our APIs.

Build event driven services using Kafka Use and enhance our Dev Ops tools and processes for CD/CI, these tools include Jenkins, Artifactory, Bit

Bucket, Gradle, Continuous Delivery Director, Ansible Mentor and support colleagues in their capabilities Identify defects in services, debug and provide effective solutions to resolve the defects.

When required, support existing APIs built on older technologies e.g., Websphere, DB2, Java UI etc.

What you will need to succeed: Required qualifications Post-secondary diploma or degree in Computer Science.





More than 5 years of development experience and progressive information technology experience, including full application development life cycle and systems integration experience.

Solid working experience with Java APIs, REST, SOAP, Spring, JSON, Open API, Swagger, web services, and web hosting technologies. 1+ years of experience using Dev

Ops tools, including Jenkins, Artifactory, Bit

Bucket, Maven, CDD, and Ansible. 1+ years of experience with Kafka and/or Kafka Streams, including KSQL.

Experience managing and coordinating team activities in a multi-site environment.

Required soft skills Customer-focused mindset.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze situations systematically and deliver effective, appropriately sized solutions in a timely manner.

Strong organizational and planning skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred qualifications Experience with Kubernetes, Okta, AWS, and MongoDB.

Experience with Group Retirement products and business domains.

Working knowledge of Business Rule Management Systems such as IBM ODM.

Experience with Web

Sphere, DB2, Java UI technologies including Swing and Spring MVC, and Sonar

Qube for static code analysis.

Exposure to Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) integration architectures and technologies.
