The InterLibrary Loans (ILL) and Media team provides resource sharing services to SFU students, faculty, staff, and partner libraries worldwide. The team processes borrowing and lending requests, delivers digital and physical materials, supports media bookings and streaming, and ensures timely access to scholarly resources beyond SFU's collections. By expanding access to information and supporting teaching, learning, and research, the team contributes directly to SFU Library's strategic priorities. About the Role

Join the SFU Library's InterLibrary Loans and Media team and play a key role in connecting the SFU community with scholarly resources from libraries around the world. This position supports teaching, learning, and research by processing borrowing and lending requests, delivering physical and digital materials, supporting media bookings, maintaining library systems, and providing excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff, and partner libraries. Working in a collaborative and quick-paced environment,



you will help ensure timely access to information while contributing to workflow improvements, staff training, and service excellence. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with library technologies, participate in ongoing service enhancements, and support initiatives that improve resource sharing and access to collections across SFU and beyond.

Qualifications

High school graduation and one year of post-secondary education or formal program equivalent in library technician courses and training in database applications. 3 years minimum experience. An equivalent combination of formal education, certificate/program of study and experience is acceptable.

- Excellent customer service, communication (oral and written), and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment and initiative, and complete a high volume of work within deadlines.
- Ability to search library licensed databases and library catalogues and use library management software and Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel) at an intermediate level.




- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and provide one-on-one training to staff and patrons on procedures and relevant tools.

Additional Information

The assignment start/end dates are: September 1, 2026 to October 27, 2026.

Priority will be given to qualified registered SFU students who must submit a Fall 2026 class schedule with their application. This is a part-time position working 35 hours biweekly. Days/hours of work are Monday to Friday between 9:00am to 5:00pm. There is 1 position available.
