Southview Acura’s Service Department is growing again!
We’re adding another technician to our team, we’re looking for someone who wants to work in a shop where being a good technician actually matters.
At Southview Acura, we’re serious about doing great work, taking care of our customers, and building a team where people enjoy coming to work.
And here’s the part that makes us a little different:
No micromanagement. No breathing down your neck.
This isn't a place where managers spend all day standing behind you asking why you’re 0.2 hours behind on a job or constantly breathing down your neck about KPIs and targets.
We trust good technicians to do their jobs.
Our managers are former Red Seal, OPI-certified journeyman technicians who actually worked their way up from the wash bay. They know what it’s like to turn wrenches, chase electrical gremlins, fight with rusty bolts, diagnose difficult problems, and try to make a living doing it.
They understand the job because they’ve done the job
We believe efficiency is key, but so is doing quality work, having the right equipment, and having a team that supports you.
What You'll Be Doing
Your day-to-day work will include:
- Performing Acura-recommended maintenance and services
- Fluid replacements, inspections, alignments, tire mounting and balancing
- Diagnosing automotive concerns and accurately identifying the root cause
- Completing repairs and properly testing vehicles before they leave
- Reconditioning trade-in vehicles
- Completing AMVIC and Out-of-Province inspections
- Reconditioning vehicles to Acura Certified Pre-Owned standards
- Keeping up with current automotive technology, industry trends and Acura best practices
- Taking care of the equipment and tools that keep the shop running
- Keeping your work area clean, organized and safe
- Working with the team to keep vehicles moving efficiently through the shop
And YES.. we actually have work.
Our sales team is acquiring new and used vehicles around the clock, which means plenty of PDIs, used car reconditioning and customer pay work to keep the bays busy.
What We're Looking For
We’re looking for technicians who take pride in what they do.
You should have:
- Strong attention to detail
- Solid diagnostic skills
- A commitment to quality workmanship
- The ability to work independently while still being a team player
- A willingness to go above and beyond for customers
- A desire to learn and keep developing your skills
- Experience with PBS
- First Aid and WHMIS are an asset
- A positive attitude and a sense of humour definitely help!
1st - 4th year apprentices or Journeyman technicians are welcome to apply.
Red Seal and Out-of-Province certification are assets.
A Shop Built for Technicians
We’ve designed our shop around making your job easier.
Some of the things you'll find here:
- 12 spacious service bays
- New EV-compatible bay
- Massive built-in technician toolboxes with lockers, workbench lighting and tons of drawers
- Plenty of room to pull vehicles into the shop even when they don't need a hoist
- A
- technician-centric shop
- where efficiency actually means making your job easier not just squeezing more out of you
- A huge off make parts vendor network we can literally get many off make parts in less than an hour
- Plenty of PDI and used-vehicle work
- Strong parts and service support
- Learning and development opportunities
We want you spending your time fixing cars not looking for parts, fighting for equipment or waiting around for someone to make a decision.
Work Life Balance Actually Matters Here
We know you have a life outside the dealership.
Our technicians have access to a very flexible vacation and time off schedule. We’ll work with you when you need time away rather than making you feel like asking for a day off is some kind of personal betrayal.
Need to take a trip?
Have family commitments?
Want to plan some time off around the summer?
Talk to us.
We believe happy, rested technicians do better work.
And there's another perk...
You can work on your own vehicles after work.
Need to do brakes on your car?
Want to install that lift kit you've been putting off?
Doing some maintenance on the project car?
Use the shop.
We know technicians have their own cars, trucks and projects and we'd rather give you a place to work on them than have you lying on your back on the driveway in February.
