Parkland C.L.A.S.S. is a community-based organization, focused on increasing the quality of life for children and adults with developmental disabilities through individual choice, dignity and rights. We support over 380 Individuals in Central Alberta.
Currently we have full time, part-time and casual positions supporting individuals with developmental disabilities living in a residential home.
There is a variety of shifts including days, evenings, nights and every other weekend rotation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of Grade 12 or General Equivalency Diploma
- 1-year experience in a related field of Human Service (personal experience will be considered)
- Acceptable Police Information Check & Child Intervention Check
- A vehicle and a valid driver’s license (with valid insurance, registration & acceptable driver’s abstract). This is not a requirement for casual employees
Responsibilities:
Our employees assist individuals to live as independently as possible within their home. Duties include developing relationships, participating in recreational activities and community outings, as well as, assisting with personal care, administering medications, preparing meals, household chores, completion of observation notes and reports. Support workers may also use positive approaches to address behaviours of concern, provide medical support, and perform lifts or transfers, use g-tubes, and monitor blood sugar, as required.
Hourly wage: $18.60- $19.95.
