Front Desk Receptionist
Start a Career in Healthcare: No Medical Experience or MOA Certificate Required
Are you working in retail, hospitality, customer service or a call centre and interested in moving into healthcare?
We are hiring a full-time Front Desk Receptionist for our Southwest Edmonton medical clinic. This is a paid opportunity to learn medical reception and administration while working as part of an experienced clinic team.
You do not need an MOA certificate or previous medical-office experience. We will provide paid, on-the-job training to teach you our clinic procedures, appointment system and electronic medical record software.
What matters most is that you already know how to provide excellent customer service, communicate professionally, stay organized and remain calm in a busy environment.

About the Role
You will be one of the first people patients interact with when they contact or visit the clinic. You will help patients feel welcomed, answer their questions and keep the front desk operating efficiently.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, communicates confidently and can manage several responsibilities without losing attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and assist them when they arrive
- Answer incoming telephone calls
- Schedule, confirm and manage appointments
- Communicate professionally with patients, physicians and clinic staff
- Learn to use our electronic medical record system
- Enter and update patient information accurately
- Complete general reception and administrative duties
- Help maintain an organized, effective and professional front desk
- Protect patient privacy and confidential information
Qualifications
- Customer-service experience in retail, hospitality, a call centre, reception or another customer-facing environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Friendly, professional and comfortable working with the public
- Comfortable answering phones and learning recent computer software
- Organized and attentive to detail
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a busy workplace
- Calm and professional when handling challenging situations
- Dependable, punctual and willing to learn
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- You do not require a Medical Office Assistant certificate
- No previous medical-clinic experience required
- You do not need experience using electronic medical record software
We provide paid, on-the-job training for candidates who are new to medical administration.
