Job Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Surveyor to join their team in Brampton, Ontario. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accurate surveying support throughout all phases of construction projects, including site layout, excavation, utility installation, structural elements, and as-built verification.

The Construction Surveyor will work closely with project managers, site superintendents, trades, engineers, and consultants to ensure construction activities are completed accurately and in accordance with design specifications, project requirements, and safety standards.

Job Type: Full-Time
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week
Salary: $75,000 – $100,000 per year (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities

- Establish and maintain horizontal and vertical control points for construction activities.
- Perform precise layout and positioning for excavation, foundations, walls, utilities, roads, and other site elements.
- Interpret engineering drawings, construction plans, survey documents, and 3D models.
- Calculate and transfer accurate field layout information using surveying equipment.
- Conduct topographic surveys and collect detailed site data.
- Perform earthwork calculations, including cut and fill quantity analysis.
- Utilize total stations, GPS rovers, robotic instruments,



and 3D scanning technology to collect accurate field measurements.
- Complete as-built surveys to verify completed construction work meets design requirements and project specifications.
- Analyze survey data and provide reports to support project decision-making.
- Identify potential discrepancies and communicate issues to the project team to minimize errors and rework.
- Maintain accurate survey records, documentation, and field notes.
- Follow all company, project, and regulatory health and safety requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Diploma or degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Construction Surveyor on active construction sites.
- Strong knowledge of construction layout, grading, utilities, and earthworks.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings, site plans, and construction documents.
- Proficiency with total stations, GPS surveying equipment, and related software.
- Experience with 3D scanning technology is an asset.
- Solid understanding of survey calculations and construction tolerances.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of Ontario construction standards and site practices is preferred.
- Candidates with previous experience on Ontario-based construction projects will be given preference.

Pay: $75,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
