As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Lead Garage Door Technician to join our team.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled, motivated, and dependable Lead Garage Door Technician with strong experience in overhead door installation, service, preventative maintenance, and repairs.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with high-speed doors, sectional doors, rolling steel doors, commercial operators, safety devices, and preventative maintenance. This is a leadership position for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, can lead a crew, and is comfortable working independently on commercial, industrial, and residential job sites.

Responsibilities

- Represent Clive Robinson Door Systems professionally on every job site.
- Lead and supervise installation and service crews.
- Install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain commercial, industrial, and residential overhead door systems.
- Install and service sectional overhead doors, rolling steel doors, high-speed doors, and related door systems.
- Install, wire, program, troubleshoot, and adjust commercial and residential door operators.
- Install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain door safety devices and safety systems, including photo eyes, sensing edges, safety switches, and related components.
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections and service on overhead door systems and operators.
- Replace torsion springs, cables, rollers, bearings,



drums, tracks, operators, safety devices, and related hardware.
- Perform adjustments, repairs, and component replacements to ensure safe and reliable operation.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked service vehicle.
- Train and mentor junior technicians.
- Ensure all work complies with company safety standards, manufacturer specifications, and applicable requirements.

Qualifications

- Hands-on experience in commercial, industrial, or residential overhead door installation and service.
- Strong knowledge of sectional doors, rolling steel doors, and high-speed doors.
- Strong experience installing and troubleshooting commercial door operators.
- Knowledge of operator safety devices and safety systems.
- Experience performing preventative maintenance on overhead doors and operators.
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
- Ability to read and follow installation manuals, technical drawings, and manufacturer specifications.
- Experience with commercial and residential garage door systems.
- Valid Ontario G Driver's Licence with a clean driving record.
- Ability to safely lift 50–75 lbs and work at heights.
- Strong emphasis on excellent attitude, professionalism and communication.
- Leadership, and customer-service skills.
- Reliable, organized, professional,



and able to work independently.
- Must be willing to travel throughout the Greater Toronto Area.

Preferred Experience

- Rolling steel, high-speed doors and sectional overhead doors.
- Dock levelers and loading dock equipment.
- Fire-rated door systems.
- Fire door inspection certification.
- Welding and fabrication is an asset.
- Working at Heights certification.
- Forklift and scissor lift experience.
- Experience leading technicians or installation crews.
