Techline Manufacturing currently has a need for a Machinist at our facility located in Scarborough, ON. We use computer numerically controlled (CNC) machinery safely and accurately to perform a variety of functions. This position is responsible for safely and efficiently maintaining, controlling and operating the CNC machines that are used in the fabrication of our products.
The qualified candidate will be responsible for the following:
· Studying job orders and interpreting blueprints to determine machining operations
· Setting up and operating the machine tools
· Performing routine maintenance on equipment and machinery
· Planning stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; anticipating needed stock; placing and expediting orders for stock; verifying receipt of stock
· Maintaining safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
· Maintaining equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs
· Documenting actions by completing production and quality logs
· Attending training and applying latest relevant knowledge
Requirements:
- Completion of Secondary school required;
- Some college course is an asset;
- Minimum 1-year experience operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools;
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings;
- Mechanical aptitude and good math skills;
- A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach;
- Good communication abilities;
- Knowledge of relative safety standards;
- Focus and attention to detail;
- A high energy level, a positive attitude and able to work without direct supervision;
- Ability to work well with others as a member of a team as well as independently;
- Previous experience working in a rapid-paced manufacturing environment;
- Able to lift minimum 100 lbs.
