Job Summary

We are looking for a reliable and efficient Sushi Roll Maker / Sushi Prep to join our restaurant team.

The primary responsibility of this position is preparing and assembling sushi rolls quickly and consistently according to our recipes and portion standards. This role is ideal for someone who has experience making sushi rolls and is comfortable working in a rapid-paced, high-volume restaurant environment.

Experience with sushi preparation is preferred, but applicants with strong kitchen experience and a willingness to learn are also welcome.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and assemble sushi rolls according to established recipes and portion standards.
- Prepare sushi rice, vegetables, sauces, and other ingredients required for daily sushi production.
- Maintain consistent size, portion, appearance, and quality of sushi rolls.
- Work efficiently during high-volume service while maintaining accuracy and quality.
- Prepare ingredients and maintain proper stock levels at the sushi station.
- Follow proper food storage, labeling, dating, and rotation procedures.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and cross-contamination prevention procedures.
- Keep the sushi station,



cutting boards, utensils, equipment, and surrounding work areas clean and organized.
- Monitor ingredient quality and notify supervisors of low inventory or quality concerns.
- Assist with other sushi and kitchen preparation duties when required.

Qualifications

- Previous experience making sushi rolls is preferred.
- Experience in a sushi restaurant, Japanese restaurant, Asian restaurant, or high-volume kitchen is an asset.
- Ability to make sushi rolls quickly and consistently.
- Basic knife skills and food preparation experience.
- Good understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to follow recipes, portion standards, and preparation procedures.
- Able to work efficiently and stay organized during busy service periods.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team.

Experience in an all-you-can-eat sushi or high-volume sushi restaurant is considered a strong asset.

Pay: $16.00-$25.00 per hour
