The Welding Shop is a growing structural steel and miscellaneous metals fabrication company based in Calgary. We pride ourselves on quality workmanship, safety, and delivering projects on schedule. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a motivated 2nd Year Apprentice Welder to join our fabrication team.

Responsibilities

- Fabricate structural steel and miscellaneous metal products from shop drawings.
- Perform FCAW, GMAW, and SMAW welding to CWB standards.
- Read and interpret shop drawings and fabrication details.
- Operate fabrication equipment including saws, ironworkers, drills, and grinders.
- Assist with fitting, layout, and assembly of structural steel components.
- Perform quality checks to ensure work meets company and customer specifications.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Work effectively with supervisors and other shop personnel to meet production schedules.

Qualifications

- Registered 2nd Year Apprentice Welder.
- Previous experience in a structural steel or miscellaneous metals fabrication shop is considered an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings.
- Experience operating common fabrication equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Positive attitude,



reliable attendance, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are an asset.
