THE OPPORTUNITY: BOOKKEEPER

We are looking for a Bookkeeper to join our Sundre, Alberta team. You do not need to know everything on day one - we are looking for someone with a solid foundation, a willingness to learn and an interest in building their bookkeeping skills. You will work with a variety of clients and receive support as you develop experience in full-cycle bookkeeping, financial reporting, payroll, government remittances and personal tax preparation.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

- Support and perform full-cycle bookkeeping for a variety of clients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client financial records
- Prepare and organize year-end information
- Assist with payroll and related government remittances
- Prepare GST/HST
- Prepare T1 personal income tax returns
- Prepare financial, statistical and accounting reports




- Build your knowledge and skills with guidance and support from experienced team members

WHAT YOU BRING:

- 1-2 years previous bookkeeping or accounting experience is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Comfortable working with technology and an interest in learning new systems
- A willingness to ask questions, receive feedback and continue developing your skills
- Strong communication skills and a client-service mindset
- Experience with QuickBooks Desktop or Online, Sage, AgExpert, Microsoft Excel, Profile or TaxPrep is an asset, but we are willing to provide training and support.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT AT ASCEND
