**Job Title: Polisher / Finisher**

**Job Description**

This role focuses on transforming regular mill-finish stainless steel into a high-quality mirror finish for pharmaceutical equipment and other shop projects.

You will work closely with welders, using a variety of hand and power tools, to ensure all components meet exacting finish standards and are ready for final assembly.

**Responsibilities**

+ Polish stainless steel components from mill finish to a consistent mirror finish, following specified finish requirements.
+ Partner with welders and other shop personnel to complete polishing and finishing work on time and to specification.
+ Perform polishing and finishing on pharmaceutical equipment and other stainless steel projects in the shop.
+ Use hand and power tools such as polishers, grinders, buffers, and dynafiles to achieve required surface finishes.
+ Grind, sand, and blend surfaces to remove imperfections and prepare parts for final polishing.
+ Inspect finished surfaces to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to required finish standards.
+ Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and follow safe operating procedures.
+ Work efficiently in a quick-paced environment while managing multiple large projects.
+ Collaborate with a team of polishers and welders to coordinate workflow and support project deadlines.

**Essential Skills**

+ Flexible on experience level, with a preference for approximately 5 years of polishing or finishing experience, ideally with stainless steel or in the furniture industry.
+ Proven ability to polish stainless steel to a high-quality mirror finish and understanding of different finish levels.
+ Hands-on experience using hand and power tools, including polishers, grinders, buffers, and dynafiles.
+ Strong attention to detail and ability to produce consistent, high-quality surface finishes.
+ Capability to work effectively in a fast-paced weld shop environment.
+ Comfort working on large projects alongside welders and other trades.

**Work Environment**

This role is based in a fast-paced weld shop with approximately 40–50 welders and multiple large projects running at any given time.

You will work as part of a team of around four polishers, using equipment such as polishers, grinders, buffers, and dynafiles on stainless steel components.

The position follows a day shift schedule:



Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The environment is active and production-focused, with a strong emphasis on safety and proper use of tools and equipment.

**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Scarborough, ON.

**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Scarborough,ON.
