**Job Title: Production Worker (Layup Aft)** **Job Description**
Join a busy manufacturing team producing interior and bifold doors as a Layup Production Worker.

In this role, you prepare, assemble, and press door components to meet strict quality and production standards in a fast-paced industrial environment.

You work with door skins, frames, cores, and adhesives, operate manufacturing equipment safely, and help ensure that each product meets inspection criteria before moving to the next stage of production.

This position is ideal for someone who is reliable, physically capable, detail-oriented, and comfortable performing repetitive tasks in a manufacturing setting.

**Responsibilities**

+ Assemble and lay up door components according to production specifications and work instructions.
+ Load and position door skins, frames, cores, and related materials into assembly fixtures or presses.
+ Apply adhesives accurately and ensure proper alignment of all materials prior to pressing.
+ Operate manufacturing equipment, conveyors, pneumatic tools, and presses in a safe and efficient manner.
+ Inspect doors for quality defects, including alignment issues, glue coverage, surface imperfections, and physical damage.
+ Stack, move, and prepare completed products for transfer to the next stage of the production process.
+ Maintain required production pace while consistently following safety and quality standards.
+ Perform basic housekeeping tasks and keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
+ Follow all plant safety procedures, including PPE requirements and lockout/tagout practices where applicable.
+ Work collaboratively with team members, leads, and supervisors to meet and exceed daily production targets.
+ Use tape measures and hand tools accurately to support assembly and production activities.
+ Carry out repetitive physical tasks such as lifting, bending, twisting, and standing for extended periods.

**Essential Skills**

+ Minimum 6+ months of experience in general labor, construction, or production environments performing repetitive tasks.
+ At least 6+ months of experience using a tape measure in a work setting.
+ Experience working with hand tools and power tools in an industrial or construction environment.
+ Ability to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs throughout the shift.
+ Reliable transportation to and from the work site.
+ Comfort working in manufacturing, general production, assembly, packaging, and production line environments.
+ Ability to perform machine operation, loading, labelling, packing, and layup tasks as required.
+ Strong attention to detail to ensure proper assembly, alignment, and quality of door components.
+ Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to safety and quality procedures.
+ Dependable work habits, including consistent attendance and punctuality.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
+ Knowledge of production equipment and ability to perform basic troubleshooting when issues arise.
+ Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mechanical systems and tools.
+ Experience in door manufacturing or similar building products production is an asset.
+ Willingness to learn new processes, equipment, and production techniques.




+ Strong team player attitude with the ability to collaborate in a high-volume production environment.

**Work Environment**
This role is based in an industrial manufacturing facility that produces interior and bifold doors.

The environment is loud, dusty, and fast-paced, with repetitive physical work that involves lifting, bending, twisting, and standing for long periods.

You work in a team-oriented production setting alongside approximately 60 assemblers and production workers, with a total workforce of about 80–100 employees.

Personal protective equipment is required, including safety shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety vest, and other PPE as needed.

The position is on the second shift, running Monday to Thursday from 4:30 PM to 3:00 AM in 10-hour shifts.

The dress code requires full-length pants and prohibits shorts and loose clothing that could be caught in machinery.

Watches, bracelets, rings, long necklaces, or dangling earrings should not be worn in the production area; medic-alert necklaces are permitted if tucked under the shirt, and medic-alert tags can be worn on a necklace instead of a bracelet.

Hair longer than shoulder length must be tied up or tucked under a hat, and hats are acceptable if they do not create a safety hazard.

The facility provides ear plugs, safety glasses, and safety vests, and expects all employees to maintain a neat and safe appearance suitable for an active production environment.

**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chilliwack, BC.

**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.

**Workplace Type**
This is a fully onsite position in Chilliwack,BC.
