**Job Title: Millwright (Ticketed, Apprentice, or Non-Ticketed)**

**Job Description**

This role supports the final stages of a large conveyor installation and commissioning project in southeast Calgary.

You will work hands-on with industrial conveyor systems, focusing on fabrication, installation, alignment, and system start-up to ensure the conveyors are safely assembled, thoroughly tested, and optimized for reliable operation in a fast-paced industrial environment.

**Responsibilities**

+ Complete fabrication, fitting, grinding, and custom add-ons on conveyor systems as required.
+ Participate in conveyor system start-up, integration, and commissioning activities.
+ Align frames, rollers, belts, motors, gearboxes, and drives to meet operational specifications.
+ Inspect fasteners, bearings, guards, and moving parts to confirm secure assembly and safe operation.
+ Troubleshoot mechanical issues on conveyors and apply effective mechanical solutions.
+ Perform fabrication tasks to modify and customize conveyor components as needed.
+ Adjust sensors and related components to ensure proper detection and system performance.
+ Track conveyor belts and resolve belt problems such as misalignment by making necessary adjustments.
+ Carry out leveling work, including laser leveling, to ensure accurate installation of conveyor equipment.
+ Tighten and secure motors and associated hardware to maintain reliable operation.
+ Ensure all safety requirements are met, including proper guarding, emergency stops, and lockout points.
+ Make final adjustments to improve system reliability, reduce wear, and enhance overall performance.
+ Work at heights safely while installing, adjusting, or inspecting conveyor components.

**Essential Skills**

+ Minimum of 3+ years of experience working as a millwright or in a similar mechanical role with conveyor fabrication experience.
+ Strong mechanical aptitude and proven ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues in an industrial environment.
+ Hands-on experience with conveyor systems, including fabrication, installation, and industrial construction work.
+ Ability to perform precise alignment of frames, rollers, belts, motors, gearboxes, and drives.
+ Competence in tracking conveyor belts and resolving belt alignment issues.
+ Experience with leveling, including use of laser leveling tools.
+ Comfort working at heights and in an active construction or industrial setting.
+ Demonstrated ability to follow safety procedures and ensure compliance with guarding, emergency stops, and lockout/tagout points.
+ Mechanical inclination and experience in industrial or construction environments.
+ Ability to bring and effectively use personal tools required for millwright and fabrication work.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Experience with commissioning and integration of conveyor systems is an asset.
+ Background in troubleshooting conveyor controls and integration issues is considered a plus.
+ AWP/EWP certification (aerial work platform / elevated work platform).
+ Fall Protection certification.
+ CSTS certification.
+ WHMIS certification.




+ Ability to customize conveyor components and perform detailed fabrication work.
+ Comfort working with other sub-trades on a multi-contractor site.

**Work Environment**

This position is based at an industrial site in southeast Calgary, working on a large conveyor installation within a busy facility alongside other sub-trades.

The role follows a first-shift schedule, typically 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with frequent extensions to approximately 6:30 PM.

You will work six days per week, Monday through Saturday, and may be scheduled for 12-hour shifts, with overtime paid after 44 hours in a week.

The project is expected to run for approximately 6 weeks, depending on progress.

The environment is hands-on and mechanically focused, involving industrial equipment, laser leveling tools, and a variety of hand tools.

Required PPE includes a hard hat, 6-inch or 8-inch steel-toe boots, safety vest, harness, and lanyard.

You must bring your own tools, including a socket set (7/16 to 3/4), wrench set (7/16 to 3/4), screwdriver set, hammer, rubber mallet, 6 torpedo level, square, small pry bar, adjustable wrenches (10 and 12), imperial measuring tape, Allen key set, and drift.

The work takes place in an active construction and industrial setting where safety, reliability, and precision are essential.

**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of Calgary, AB.

**Pay and Advantages**
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $42.00/hr.
