**Job Title: Electrician**

**Job Description**

This role is an onsite industrial electrician position supporting a large installation project at a food processing and distribution facility in Brantford, Ontario.

You will assist with the installation of racking and conveyor systems, working extensively with cabling, sensors, threading and wiring, and electrical panels.

The work involves reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings, pulling and terminating cables, and ensuring automated material handling and production equipment operates safely and efficiently.

**Responsibilities**

+ Install and assist with the setup of racking and conveyor systems in a food processing and distribution facility.
+ Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and electrical diagrams to plan and execute installations.
+ Pull, route, and terminate electrical cables and wiring for automation equipment, panels, and control systems.
+ Thread conduit and prepare cable pathways to support electrical and control installations.
+ Work with electrical panels, performing terminations, connections, and basic troubleshooting.
+ Install, align, and repair mechanical components such as gearboxes, motors, bearings, pumps, and drive systems.
+ Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment, including conveyors, packaging lines, and material handling systems.
+ Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on automated production and processing lines to minimize downtime.
+ Support operation and maintenance of packaging equipment, including tray packing, vacuum sealing, and labeling systems.
+ Maintain and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-operated systems associated with industrial automation.
+ Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment and production lines, ensuring proper function and safety.
+ Ensure correct operation of refrigeration and cold storage systems within the facility.
+ Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and maintain food-grade sanitation standards during all work activities.
+ Use hand and power tools safely and effectively for installation, repair, and maintenance tasks.
+ Work at heights using approved equipment and follow all safety procedures and certifications related to elevated work.
+ Collaborate with other trades and installation teams on site to coordinate work and meet project timelines.
+ Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work area in compliance with industrial and food-processing safety standards.

**Essential Skills**

+ Licensed 309A or 442A Electrician with demonstrated industrial experience.
+ Proven experience in automation installation, including terminations to panels and pulling wire for control systems.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and electrical diagrams.
+ Strong experience with conveyors, material handling systems, and automated warehouse or production equipment.
+ Hands-on experience with packaging lines, production lines, and bulk handling equipment such as crushers, feeders, bins, and hoppers.
+ Mechanical aptitude with the ability to install, align, and repair gearboxes, motors, bearings, pumps, and drive systems.
+ Experience in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues on automated production and processing lines.
+ Knowledge of electrical wiring practices, including cable pulling, terminations, and repair.
+ Strong hand and power tool experience and knowledge,



with the ability to use tools safely and efficiently.
+ Comfort working in industrial environments and on similar large-scale installation projects.
+ Certifications for working at heights and operation of mobile elevating work platforms (MEWP/AWP/EWP).
+ Understanding and adherence to lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and industrial safety practices.
+ Ability to maintain food-grade sanitation standards while performing maintenance and installation work.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Mechanical inclination and interest in working with industrial and automated equipment.
+ Experience in industrial settings such as material handling systems, packaging lines, and assembly line maintenance.
+ Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-operated systems in an industrial environment.
+ Experience supporting refrigeration and cold storage systems is an asset.
+ CSTS certification.
+ WHMIS certification.
+ Fall protection training and certification.
+ Working at heights certification.
+ Ability to support installation and commissioning of new equipment and production lines.
+ Ownership of a complete set of basic tools, including socket set (7/16 to 3/4), wrench set (7/16 to 3/4), screwdriver set, hammer, rubber mallet, 6 torpedo level, square, small pry bar, 10 and 12 adjustable wrenches, imperial measuring tape, allen key set, and drift.

**Work Environment**

This is a full-time onsite role at a food processing and distribution facility in Brantford, Ontario.

The position is on first shift, with a normal schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and typical working hours extending to approximately 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday, resulting in around 60-hour work weeks.

You work within a large, active industrial environment alongside multiple installation teams and tradespeople.

The facility includes conveyors, packaging lines, material handling systems, and cold storage areas, requiring adherence to food-grade sanitation standards and industrial safety practices.

You must wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times, including a hard hat, 6-inch or 8-inch steel-toe boots, safety vest, and harness with lanyard when working at heights.

The work involves regular use of hand and power tools, working at heights, and operating or working around mobile elevating work platforms in a busy construction and installation setting.

**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of Brantford, ON.

**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $42.00/hr.
