Job Summary

CertiClean is currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Porter Cleaner to provide cleaning services at a large industrial facility in Whitby.

This is a consistent Monday-to-Friday day-shift opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work, is dependable, communicates well, and understands the importance of maintaining a clean and safe work workplace.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining assigned areas throughout the facility and responding to day-to-day cleaning requirements as they arise.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Perform daily cleaning of designated areas, including offices, washrooms, lunchrooms, hallways and common areas
- Sweep, mop, vacuum and complete general floor cleaning
- Empty garbage and recycling containers
- Clean and sanitize washrooms and high-touch surfaces
- Replenish washroom, paper and cleaning supplies as required
- Respond to spills and other cleaning requirements throughout the day
- Maintain cleaning equipment and ensure supplies are properly stored
- Complete assigned cleaning checklists and daily responsibilities
- Identify and promptly report maintenance concerns, hazards or unsafe conditions
- Follow all facility-specific health and safety requirements
- Maintain good communication with CertiClean management and site representatives
- Work professionally and respectfully around client personnel, contractors and other facility staff

Qualifications & Skills





- Previous commercial or industrial cleaning experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
- Reliable, punctual and committed to consistent attendance
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working in an active industrial environment
- Safety-conscious with positive situational awareness
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to operate standard commercial cleaning equipment
- Physically capable of bending, lifting, walking and standing for extended periods throughout the day
- Reliable transportation to the Whitby location

The successful candidate will be expected to maintain CertiClean's standards for cleanliness, safety, professionalism and accountability while working at the facility.

This opportunity is structured as an independent contractor/service provider arrangement with CertiClean.

Pay: $18.00–$18.50 per hour

Expected Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week
