Integral Maintenance Systems Ltd. is seeking an experienced Journeyman/Woman Heavy Equipment Technician to join our growing team.

We are a locally owned and operated mechanical repair and maintenance company providing shop and field services throughout the Fort McMurray, Fort McKay and surrounding oil sands region. Our technicians work on a diverse range of heavy-duty trucks, commercial vehicles and industrial equipment.

The Position

The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining and repairing a variety of heavy-duty vehicles and industrial equipment in both shop and field environments.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, works safely, can troubleshoot independently and understands the importance of getting equipment back into service efficiently and correctly.

Responsibilities

- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and maintain heavy-duty vehicles and industrial equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled repairs
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and diesel engine concerns
- Perform inspections and identify required and recommended repairs
- Assemble and disassemble equipment and components as required
- Complete repairs accurately and efficiently to minimize customer downtime
- Perform welding and minor fabrication work when required
- Complete both shop and field service repairs
- Accurately document repairs, parts and labour
- Communicate equipment concerns and repair recommendations clearly
- Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a clean and organized manner




- Provide professional and courteous service when interacting with customers
- Follow all company and customer safety policies and procedures
- Contribute to a positive and proactive safety culture

Requirements

Applicants must have:

- Valid Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician certification
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driving record
- Solid heavy-duty equipment diagnostic and repair experience
- Proficiency in electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Experience with diesel engines, hydraulic systems and mechanical repairs
- Ability to accurately assemble and disassemble equipment and components
- Familiarity with industry-standard hand, power and diagnostic tools
- Welding and fabrication skills
- Robust troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Positive attitude toward workplace safety and safe work practices
- Ability to successfully complete a Drug & Alcohol test prior to onboarding

Assets

The following are considered assets:

- Class 3 driver's licence
- CVIP inspection certification
- Previous oil sands/site experience
- Field service experience
- Experience working on a variety of fleet and industrial equipment




- Additional OEM or manufacturer training/certifications
