Responsibilities
- Lead interactive cooking classes tailored for children, ensuring safety and engagement at all times
- Demonstrate proper cooking techniques and safety procedures to young participants
- Prepare ingredients and organize materials needed for each workshop session
- Foster a supportive workplace that encourages curiosity, questions, and hands-on participation
- Adapt lessons to accommodate different age groups and skill levels, ensuring inclusivity
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workshop area before and after each class
- Collaborate with team members to develop creative lesson plans that align with educational goals
Experience
- Prior experience in teaching or tutoring children in a classroom or workshop setting
- Hands-on cooking experience, preferably working with children or in early childhood education
- Strong background in teaching or mentoring young learners with patience and enthusiasm
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and creating engaging learning environments
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling of kitchen tools and ingredients
- Experience working with diverse groups of children, including those with special needs is a plus
Qualifications
- Experience working with children is preferred (camp, daycare, school, recreation, or similar).
- Friendly, patient, energetic, and reliable.
- Comfortable speaking with children and parents.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs and remain active throughout the shift.
- Food handling experience with Ontario Food Handler Certificate.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification is an asset.
Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
