About the Role

An excellent opportunity is available for a Tire Technician to join a busy and well-established automotive service centre in Scarborough, Ontario.

We are looking for reliable, hardworking, and motivated individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced automotive environment. This position is suitable for candidates with previous tire or automotive experience, as well as individuals looking to build their skills and start or grow their career in the automotive industry.

Both full-time and part-time positions are available, making this an excellent opportunity for candidates looking for either a long-term full time position or a flexible work schedule.

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, good attention to detail, and a commitment to completing tire services safely and efficiently.

What You'll Do

- Install, remove, mount, and balance tires on a variety of passenger vehicles and light trucks.
- Perform seasonal tire changeovers, including winter and summer tire installations.
- Inspect tires for wear, damage, punctures, and other safety concerns.
- Perform tire rotations and tire pressure checks.
- Repair tires when required using appropriate repair procedures and equipment.
- Balance wheels accurately using computerized tire balancing equipment.
- Remove and install wheels safely using proper tools and procedures.
- Torque wheel nuts to manufacturer specifications.
- Inspect wheels, tires, valves, and related components for potential issues.




- Identify tire-related safety concerns and report them to the Service Advisor or management.
- Assist automotive technicians with tire-related services when required.
- Perform tire inflation and pressure adjustments according to manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain organized tire storage and ensure tires are properly labelled and stored.
- Keep tire equipment, tools, workstations, and service areas clean and organized.
- Follow all shop safety procedures and Health & Safety requirements.
- Handle tires, wheels, and equipment safely throughout the workday.
- Provide efficient and professional service to customers when required.
- Complete assigned work accurately and within expected timeframes.
- Follow proper procedures when operating tire changers, wheel balancers, lifts, jacks, and other shop equipment.
- Assist with general shop duties as required.

Qualifications

- Previous experience as a Tire Technician, Tire Installer, Automotive Technician, or in a similar automotive service role is an asset.
- Previous experience with tire mounting and balancing is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of tires, wheels, tire sizes, and tire pressure is an asset.
- Ability to safely operate tire-changing and wheel-balancing equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe workmanship.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced automotive environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and established safety procedures.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and develop automotive service skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, bending, standing, and working on vehicles throughout the day.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous professional tire shop or automotive service centre experience.
- Experience with seasonal tire changeovers.
- Experience with computerized tire balancing equipment.
- Experience with tire repair and puncture repair.
- Experience working with passenger vehicles, SUVs,



and light trucks.
- Basic automotive mechanical knowledge.
- Valid Ontario G Driver's Licence is an asset.
