Job description

We are looking for a Staff Pharmacist to join our team at Doon Mills Pharmacy in Kitchener. The position is flexible from part-time to full-time depending on the candidate's availability. The successful candidate will be responsible for dispensing and counseling patients on prescription and over-the-counter medications, performing injections and vaccinations, completing medication reviews (MedChecks), and assessing and prescribing for minor ailments. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and work well with a team.

Responsibilities:

- Provide advice and counseling with patients on prescription and over-the-counter medications
- Complete and maintain accurate documentation for dispensing of prescription medications
- Maintain accurate inventory for dispensary needs
- Accurately process and maintain prescriptions
- Level A compounding of simple preparations
- Provide patient services in accordance with the full scope of immunizations, injections and minor ailment assessments
- Complete MedChecks with eligible patients, ensuring proper documentation is maintained

Who we are:

- A locally owned and operated pharmacy with two locations in the south end of Kitchener
- The primary location for this position has been open for five years, and is still in a growth phase




- Hours of operation are 9am to 7pm Monday to Friday, and 10am to 2pm Saturday
- We are closed on Sundays and all statutory holidays

How you will succeed:

- Completion of Pharmacist University program combined with valid Ontario Provincial Pharmacy license
- Immunization certification
- Ability to work efficiently as a leader and team member
- Knowledge or experience with Propel Rx, Pharmaclik Rx or Nexxsys software an asset, but not a requirement
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Participate in the growth and direction of the pharmacy
- Ability to use pharmacy management systems, point-of-sale, and electronic health records

What we are looking for:

- Part-time to full-time depending on candidate availability.
- Two weekday shifts to be filled by one or two candidates depending on availability.

- From $55.00 per hour
