Project Manager

- Location: Edmonton, Alberta

Raise is currently hiring a Project Manager on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is a publicly traded Canadian Engineering, Logistics and Energy Holding Company

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

Description

The Project Manager in this role will have the overall responsibility and accountability for the successful completion of assigned projects and programs, ensuring they meet scope, schedule, cost, and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements. Operating within our clients Engineering & Construction, Electricity division, the successful candidate will provide critical leadership to the project team, ensure detailed project plans are developed and maintained, and act as the single point of contact for external parties including the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO), the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC), customers, and regulators.

Responsibilities

- Project Lifecycle & Business Case Management: Lead, develop, and coordinate the project business case, funding approvals, scope of work, cost estimates, schedules, and success measures. Guide projects from planning and procurement through execution, decommissioning, and closeout.
- Progress & Performance Monitoring: Lead the project team throughout the project lifecycle to monitor progress, identify critical activities, maintain budget and schedule parameters, coordinate change approvals, and resolve issues with daily, weekly, and monthly tracking against the plan.
- Cross-Functional Execution: Lead and direct Planning, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction activities across multiple project and program teams. Ensure all execution aspects comply with HSE and legal requirements.
- Procurement & Long-Lead Management:



Work closely with Procurement to strategize contracting, identify and ensure procurement of all long-term delivery and long-lead equipment, monitor critical path material delivery status, expedite deliverables, identify substitutes for unavailable equipment, and resolve contractual issues or disputes.
- Risk & Issue Management: Identify all significant project and program risks, prepare comprehensive mitigation plans, track and manage risks and contingencies as they develop, and ensure key documents are properly maintained in the document management system (e.g., SharePoint).
- Stakeholder & Regulatory Communication: Act as the single point of contact for the project, ensuring clear communication among team members and external parties—specifically including AESO, AUC, customers, and consultants—regarding scope, schedule, and budget, especially for any material changes.
- Continuous Improvement: Ensure Lessons Learned are systematically collected and utilized to suggest enhancements to internal processes and project methodologies.
- Culture & Safety Leadership: Champion the organizaions uncompromising safety standards, HSE policies, and B Corporation culture across all job sites.

Qualifications

- 5+ years of project-related experience within the engineering, construction, energy infrastructure, or industrial sectors.
- Thorough understanding of HSE policies and regulations, PMI methodology, contracts and procurement processes, and project cost estimating, forecasting, and scheduling.
- Superior analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills,



with a proven ability to manage complex commercial terms and external stakeholders.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated success establishing team-oriented relationships internally and externally.
- Familiarity with industry project management and scheduling tools, including Unifier, P6, MS Project, and SharePoint.
- Education and Certifications
- Degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Commerce, Business, or a related technical discipline.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Registered Engineering Technologist (RET) designation is strongly preferred.
- P.M.P. (Project Management Professional) designation is required.
