Job Summary
Welcoming qualified Candidates within Canada only. We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Lawyer to join our boutique Personal Injury and Employment law firm. Candidates with a minimum of 8 years' experience will be given priority.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in personal injury litigation, Employment Law, Canda Disability Pension Plan, Civil Litigation, with the ability to manage a full caseload independently from opening of the file to trial or settlement. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a tight-knit team, mentor junior associates, and contribute to the firm’s strategic growth. Solid advocacy, negotiation, and client management skills are essential. This is a leadership position for someone who thrives in a collaborative, high-performance environment and is committed to delivering exceptional results for injured clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive legal advice to clients on a variety of complex legal issues.
- Conduct thorough research to support case preparation and strategy development.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings as necessary.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to ensure effective case management.
- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends.
Skills
- Handle and have full carriage of approximately 120 files.
- Conduct all aspects of file management including client relation, strategy development, and resolution.
- Draft pleadings, motion records, factums,
mediation and pre-trial briefs, and other legal documents.
- Attend and argue motions, conduct examinations for discovery, mediations, pre-trials, and trials.
- Prepare clients for discoveries, mediations, and trials, including witness preparation.
- Analyze medical records and expert reports, assess liability and damages.
- Engage in meaningful settlement discussions and negotiations with opposing counsel and insurance representatives.
- Supervise and mentor junior associates, clerks, and support staff as needed.
- Strong research skills with the ability to analyze complex legal issues effectively.
- Proficient in legal drafting with exceptional writing capabilities for clear communication.
- Excellent negotiation skills to advocate for clients' best interests.
- Familiarity with Lexis-Nexis, Primafact & Clio or similar legal research tools is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $140,000.00-$180,000.00 per year
