Automation / Robotics / Maintenance Technician

Tier 2 Automotive Manufacturing

Job Summary

We are seeking Automation / Robotics / Maintenance Technicians to support and maintain automated manufacturing and robotic welding systems in a fast‑paced automotive Tier 2 production environment. This role is ideal for experienced technicians as well as recent graduates and registered apprentices looking to grow their skills in industrial automation and robotics.

The successful candidate will be hands‑on, solutions‑oriented, and capable of troubleshooting and supporting automated production equipment to ensure safe, effective, and reliable operation.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up, program, maintain, and troubleshoot:
- Robotic welding cells
- Automated production machinery
- Material handling and peripheral equipment
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
- Troubleshoot and modify PLC‑controlled systems (Allen‑Bradley)
- Support robot programming, fault recovery, and optimization
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime
- Assist with commissioning, debugging, and continuous improvement of automated cells
- Work closely with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to support uptime and quality targets




- Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a safe work environment

Required Experience, Skills & Qualifications

- Diploma, apprenticeship, or technical training in:
- Automation
- Robotics
- Electrical / Industrial Maintenance
- Mechatronics or related field
- Familiarity with industrial robotics, including:
- FANUC
- MOTOMAN (Yaskawa)
- Working knowledge of Allen‑Bradley PLC systems
- Experience in an automotive Tier 1 or Tier 2 manufacturing environment is an asset
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to support shift work as required

Recent graduates and apprentices are encouraged to apply

Preferred Assets (Not Mandatory)

- Robotic welding cell experience
- PLC programming or troubleshooting experience
- Exposure to preventive maintenance systems
- Basic understanding of industrial networks and sensors

Compensation

The expected compensation for this position ranges from $22.00 to $36.00 per hour, depending on experience, technical skill level, and qualifications.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00-$36.00 per hour
