Levert Personnel Resources Inc. is seeking a Civil Lab Technician on behalf of our client, In the mining industry in Northern Ontario. Reporting directly to the Senior Engineer, you will play a vital role in executing field investigations, monitoring critical dam infrastructure, and managing soil laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Drone Survey Operations: Conduct drone-related survey tasks, including detailed flight planning, laying out ground control points, and executing image processing utilizing PIX4D photogrammetry software.
- QA/QC Laboratory Testing: Complete regular QA/QC sampling and technical testing of aggregates to determine particle size distribution and maximum dry density in strict accordance with ASTM standards and project Technical Specifications.
- Sample Tracking: Maintain accurate, up-to-date sample tracking logs and prioritize incoming QA/QC samples within the department's soil laboratory.
- Field Investigations: Execute routine field programs, including site investigations for test pitting programs and ongoing water level monitoring.
- Infrastructure Inspection: Support the Engineer with weekly performance monitoring and safety inspections of tailings and water dams, ensuring compliance via detailed inspection reports and checklists.
- Project Support & Reporting: Assist project leads with crushing and aggregate requirement planning, tracking quantities, managing data, and issuing formal daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
- Hazard Mitigation:



Actively identify all potential workplace hazards and immediately report them to Senior Supervisors and the Superintendent to ensure timely mitigation.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Education: Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering Technician/Technology or a related mining, civil, or mechanical engineering field is preferred.
- Certifications: Transport Canada Pilot Certification (Basic Operations) for Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) is preferred.
- Industry Experience: Previous hands-on experience within the mining or heavy civil construction industry is highly desirable.
- Laboratory Experience: Prior experience working inside a technical soil testing laboratory environment is considered a strong asset.
- Technical Literacy: Excellent operational knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Physical & Mental Aptitude: Proven ability to work comfortably inside a laboratory environment for extended periods, manage competing priorities under project deadlines, and solve problems with a results-oriented approach.
