The role. We are seeking a Temporary Accountant within our Business Services Department. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Temporary Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial integrity within MPR.
The expected term of this employment will be until March 16, 2028, with the possibility of extension.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Prepare month end journal entries & reconciliations.
- Assist in invoice posting and Payment processing.
- Assist the corporate Treasury team with inquiries related to monthly and quarterly reports, and various other analysis/deliverables completed at the mill level.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors for audit requirements.
- Seek continual process improvements.
- Conduct protected work practices and help promote safety in the workplace.
- Additional duties, as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Must hold a University Degree in a relevant field.
- CPA designation or progress will be considered an asset.
- 2+ years of Accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Google Workspace or MS Office 365.
- Proficient understanding of ERP systems, as well as Great Plains, SAP and Lucanet is considered an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to interact with team members while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
