The Department of Workplace, Culture and Society at Thompson Rivers University invites applications for a sessional faculty member to teach the following course in the Fall 2026 semester in-person:
SOCI 3620 – Special Topics in Social Problems Students engage in an in depth examination of a selected area within the discipline of sociology. The specific area will vary according to faculty availability and expertise. This contract represents 3 workload credits.
Availability for scheduled course times required in-person: Mondays and Thursdays 8:30 – 9:45 am.
Applications will be reviewed commencing the closing application date and may continue until the position is filled.
QUALIFICATIONS
PhD in Sociology or a closely related discipline, or be a current PhD candidate or hold a relevant master's degree with professional experience that contributes to engaged scholarly teaching.
Successful teaching experience in post-secondary institutions preferred
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply, however applications from Canadians and permanent residents will be given priority.
