Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development. This role requires a strong commitment to early childhood education principles and the ability to effectively communicate with children, parents, and colleagues. Bilingual skills in English and French are highly valued, along with experience working with children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities. The Early Childhood Teacher will play a vital role in supporting children's growth through engaging activities and personalized care.
Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with educational standards and individual student needs
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and social interaction
- Monitor and assess each child's developmental progress and maintain detailed records
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan activities and ensure a cohesive educational experience
- Assist children with daily routines such as feeding, dressing, and hygiene in a caring manner
- Incorporate special education strategies when working with children with disabilities or additional needs
- Utilize computer skills for record keeping, lesson planning, and communication purposes
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment conducive to learning
- Participate in ongoing career development to stay current with early childhood education best practices
Skills
- Proficiency in English;
- Strong knowledge of childcare principles and early childhood education standards
- Experience working with children across various developmental stages; classroom experience preferred
- Ability to work effectively with children with disabilities or special needs
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
- Effective time management to ensure all activities are completed within scheduled times
- Leadership qualities to guide children positively and support team collaboration
- Writing skills for documentation and progress reports
- Computer operation skills for record keeping, lesson planning, and communication tools
