Neil Smith Construction Ltd. located in Delta, BC has an opening for an excavator operator (Civil Works) position to work in the Greater Vancouver area.

NSC is a privately held civil construction company that specializes in excavation, site prep and site servicing requirements in the residential, commercial and government sectors. We build solid relationships with public and private sector clients, ensuring that clear communication and safety are at the core of all aspects of our work.

The ideal candidates will possess the following:

- A minimum of two years experience if applying for Heavy Equipment/Excavator Operator position.
- Experience with reading blueprints, interpreting drawings, setting and using laser-levels, trenching for utilities, excavating and backfill of structures and road building.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team member and equally motivated working independently.
- Ability to exercise good judgement and show initiative;
- Self-motivated and dependable with a demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities; and.

Working Conditions:

- Ability to travel to site locations as required

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities





- Practical knowledge and experience with current WorkSafeBC regulations and applicable construction practices.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong ability to multi-task competing priorities and work under tight timelines.
- Conflict avoidance and the ability to work in a high-pressure workplace
- Class 5 Drivers License.

Qualifications (Education, Experience and Training)

- Minimum 2 – 3 years’ experience in civil construction including bulk excavation, site servicing and utilities work
- Qualification in trades and/or experience as equipment operator
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test
