Ace Acumen Heights is a Languages Canada accredited designated learning institution (DLI). As a private international institution located in Toronto, Ontario, the school is fully inspected by the Ontario Ministry of Education. The courses we offer derive from the curriculum set by the Ontario Ministry of Education, and our students work towards their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) to continue their academic careers at a post-secondary school of their choice.

The High School is seeking OCT CERTIFIED individuals which also have experience to teach AP courses. The Teacher will provide academic support to students from diverse backgrounds and cultures, where English is not spoken as their First Language, while taking students' differences and needs into account. The Teacher will be able to create an environment that is conducive to learning, will encourage students to interact with each other to improve their English-speaking skills, and reach their academic and professional goals.

Candidates must be flexible to workdays, afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays, as necessary. This is a part time, fixed-term, semester contract position.

This position is expected to work on-site at the High School’s campus (North York); it is NOT a remote job.

Successful candidate(s) will be responsible for teaching and administrative duties including data entry for course materials into ministry portals and evaluation/marking responsibilities, planning lessons and activities, engaging in school activities, and encouraging and motivating students to learn.

Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal communication, written communication and interpersonal skills:

- Teaching courses up to 20 hours/ week
- Inspection preparations (LC,



MCU)
- Assisting Teachers (senior) for marking
- Placement implementation / Test evaluation
- Assisting Principal for Accreditation

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor of Education;
- OCT certification, active and in good standing;
- Evidence of AQs and ABQs;
- Experience teaching AP courses;
- Looking for:
- (1) English and Humanities Teacher: Qualified to teach English, English as a Second Language (ESL), History, and Social Sciences at the secondary school level.
- (1) Mathematics and Science Teacher: Qualified to teach Mathematics and Science courses at the secondary school level.
- TESL Ontario or TESL Canada certification are considered assets;
- Two years' teaching experience; experience with teaching international students
- Flexibility in working shifts and to travel between campuses

Candidates selected for an interview may be required to provide a 10-minute teaching demonstration. Details will be provided when interviews are scheduled.
