Job Title: Senior Payroll Specialist

Location: Brampton, ON

Work Type: Temporary, 12-month Maternity Contract

Shift: Days of work – Monday to Friday, must have flexibility in working hours, Hybrid 2-3 days onsite

Pay: $40 - $45/hr. + 4% vacation pay We Deduct CPP, EI and Income Tax. You will be paid each Friday for the previous week’s work.

The Role: Senior Payroll Specialist

- Processing bi-weekly payroll for hourly and owner operators.
- Entering Owner Operator invoices daily.
- Issuing fuel rates for all provinces as per our collective agreement.
- Handling daily payroll queries related to hourly, salary and Owner Operator Payroll.
- Processing bi-weekly records of employment for all our hourly and salaried employees and updating their records in Kronos.
- Handling Service Canada and Workers compensation requests for payroll information.
- Handling 3rd party payments such as garnishes and union dues on a bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.




- Updating new hires in Kronos and providing them with access to biometrics.
- Updating all payroll related details for new hires in WFN.
- Filing
- Ad hoc projects

What you’ll bring:

- Must have 5 - 7 years of payroll experience in Ontario and Quebec
- Must have completed or working towards PCP
- Must have software knowledge of UKG, Kronos and ADP Workforce Now
- Must have excellent excel competency (including basic formulas – VLOOKUP, pivot table, IF functions, etc.) and experience in using Access software
- Must be a team player
- Must be flexibility in working hours
- Must have high attention to detail
- Must be able to work under pressure and tight deadlines
- Must be quick learner and organized
- Must have robust customer orientation and ability to communicate at all levels
- Must be analytical and very accurate
