We grow, harvest, pack, and distribute a wide variety of fresh vegetables, including cauliflower, celery, onions, carrots, and beets, serving customers across North America.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Intermediate Accountant to join our team and grow with our growing organization. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing the full accounting cycle, preparing timely financial reports, managing the year-end closing, and coordinating with external accountants to support the preparation of financial statements and tax filings. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full accounting cycle of our U.S. operations, as well as Accounts Payable for our Canadian operations.

Duties

Accounting & Financial Reporting

- Manage the full accounting cycle, including AR, AP, invoicing, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
- Perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, AR, AP, fixed assets, intercompany accounts, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare journal entries, including accruals, depreciation, intercompany transactions, investments, and other month-end adjustments.
- Maintain accurate financial records and prepare timely financial reports for management




- Maintain the fixed asset register and continuity schedule.
- Assist with budgeting, financial tracking, and variance analysis.

Accounts Receivable & Payable

- Manage AR by preparing invoices, monitoring collections, reconciling customer accounts, and analyzing aging reports.
- Manage AP by reviewing and verifying vendor invoices, processing ACH and cheque payments, and maintaining accurate supplier records.
- Responsible for Accounts Payable for the Canadian operations.

U.S. Operations & Year-End

- Maintain the full accounting records for the U.S. company.
- Manage the year-end close process and prepare supporting working papers.
- Liaise with external accountants regarding financial statements, tax filings, and other year-end requirements.

Administrative

- Maintain a schedule of operating licences, permits, and regulatory requirements and ensure timely renewals and filings.
- Maintain land lease records, agreements, renewal dates, and related tracking schedules.
- Maintain insurance schedules and update insured assets as required.
- Provide accounting and administrative support to management and other departments as needed.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting.




- 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience, with demonstrated experience handling full-cycle accounting responsibilities independently.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online is required; experience with an ERP system is preferred (Sage X3 is considered an asset).
- Experience in the agriculture or manufacturing industry is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
- Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to streamline processes.
- This is a full-time, on-site position; remote work is not available.
