Saw Operator

Advanced Precision is looking for a reliable, safety-focused Saw Operator to join our manufacturing team. The Saw Operator is responsible for preparing and cutting raw material to specification, accurately identifying and routing material for machining, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate saw equipment safely and efficiently to cut bar stock to specified lengths.
- Receive incoming steel and ensure materials are properly identified and labeled to maintain accurate inventory.
- Set up and operate saws according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and production requirements.
- Accurately identify and label billets with part numbers to ensure they are routed to the correct machining operation.
- Use measuring equipment such as verniers, calipers, and tape measures to verify material dimensions and ensure they meet specified tolerances.
- Operate a conventional band saw as required.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance and routine checks on saw equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, part numbers, and work instructions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow company standards and procedures related to safety, quality/ISO, and environmental requirements.
- Work effectively as part of a team to meet production schedules and quality requirements.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:





- A strong commitment to workplace safety and a willingness to actively participate in our health and safety programs.
- 1+ year of experience in a machine shop, manufacturing, or similar industrial environment.
- The ability to read and understand engineering drawings, work instructions, and procedures.
- Experience using measuring equipment such as tape measures, verniers, and calipers.
- The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Previous experience operating material-handling equipment such as overhead cranes and lift trucks is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
- Reliable attendance, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Compensation

$20.00+ per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
