The Job:.

Lead Hands will assist the Maintenance Supervisors while providing hands-on technical support to the maintenance workforce to ensure tasks are completed to Heavy Metal's standards of quality, safety and efficiency.

We are seeking strong, highly motivated individuals with a demonstrated commitment to safety and to improve and reinforce the performance of others. They will assist in facilitating skill development, provide mentorship, monitor work, information and plans and organize time and resources efficiently.

Work at the Heart of Canada’s Energy Sector
Based in our Spruce Grove Rebuild Shop, you’ll work on a 7/7 rotation in a safety-first environment. With 12-hour shifts, alternating sets between days and nights, you’ll rack up 40 regular hours and 44 overtime hours per rotation.

Lead Hand Duties

- Assist with daily tasks/repairs as required by maintenance personnel and regular technician duties
- Mentor technicians to ensure repairs and maintenance are completed without the need for re-work
- Complete job scope reviews
- Assist in the maintenance of shop/facilities/tooling by holding technicians accountable for housekeeping, reporting deficiencies and ensuring broken tools are repaired/replaced
- Plan ahead for upcoming problems or opportunities and take appropriate action
- Be thorough in accomplishing a task through concern for all areas involved
- Create an atmosphere where timely, high-quality information flows smoothly

What We’re Looking For:

- A desire to make a difference and take pride in your work
- Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and ability to champion a strong safety culture
- 5+ years of hands-on experience,



with mining equipment, as a Red Seal or Journeyman Certification
- 2+ years of experience in a leadership/supervisory position
- 3+ years of experience with dozers, haul trucks, shovels and excavators of all major brands such as CAT, John Deere, Hitachi, and Komatsu
- Superior troubleshooting, diagnostic, and technical skills
- Collaborative communication style at all levels of the organization demonstrating an open, honest and consistent approach to working with others
- Able to pass a respiratory fit test, meet fitness standards, and handle 50 lbs
- Clean Driver's Abstract and Advanced Class 5 License with Air Brakes
