Overview

We are looking for a reliable, friendly, and customer-focused Part-Time Convenience Store Clerk to join our team. Exceptional customer service is our top priority, and we are seeking an individual who is always courteous, attentive, and able to maintain a positive, welcoming environment for our customers while taking full responsibility for store operations.

Responsibilities

- Provide warm, qualified, and courteous service to all customers at all times
- Handle customer inquiries and questions professionally both in-person and over the phone
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and process cash, debit, and credit transactions accurately using basic math skills
- Balance cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts
- Take accurate passport pictures, cut keys, copy security fobs, and safely prepare and serve food items
- Manage OLG lottery ticket sales, validations, payouts, and terminal maintenance, ensuring compliance with regulations
- Monitor and record tobacco, alcohol, and age-restricted product sales, strictly verifying customer ID
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store (sweeping, mopping, taking out garbage, etc.)
- Stock shelves, refrigerators, and display areas regularly and monitor inventory levels




- Perform opening or closing duties independently while working alone, ensuring store security and loss prevention

Qualifications

- Previous convenience store or retail experience preferred
- Fluent in English (written and verbal) with excellent communication skills
- Must hold or be willing to obtain AGCO Board-approved training programs / Smart Serve certification
- Strong basic math skills and high attention to detail in transactions
- Ability to multitask effectively while remaining calm under pressure
- High level of personal responsibility, reliability, and comfort working independently
- Available to work shifts Monday through Saturday between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM (subject to change; shift lengths range from 4 to 8 hours; must be available Saturdays; store is closed Sundays)

Experience:

- Convenience store or retail: 1 year (preferred)
- Cash handling or customer service: 1 year (preferred)
- Handling lottery terminals and procedures: 1 year (preferred)
