UA Local 56 is currently seeking a Membership Administrator to join our team. We are looking for a dedicated, detailed oriented individual with exceptional organizational skills who can provide support on a range of tasks to ensure daily support is provided to union members and industry partners alike. We value our members and pride ourselves in providing them with a high level of support and service through union programs.
You have high standards, superior problem-solving skills, great phone etiquette and are described as courteous, mature and a team player. You have the ability to prioritize work, adhere to deadlines, and are great at multitasking. You have excellent written and verbal communications skills. You’re not only trustworthy, but punctual and keen on learning new systems and programs to ensure you achieve success in your role.
Our office is a fast paced and dynamic work environment that requires flexibility and ability to adapt and adjust to different opportunities that may arise.
Key Responsibilities (80%):
- Enter membership dues into our computer system each month. Confirm that the amounts are correct and correspond with employers if any changes are necessary
- AMS (Apprenticeship Management system) data entry
- Dispatch members and send paperwork to employers
- Clerical support directly to Business Manager and Business Agent
- Assist with special events throughout the year
Additional Responsibilities (20%)
- Provide support and fill-in for the Training Centre, Accounting department and front desk during breaks and vacations
Qualifications (Education / Experience):
- Grade XII or equivalent
- A post-secondary education in Office Administration, Business Administration or Accounting
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a busy administrative role
- Intermediate knowledge using MS Office Platforms (Excel, Outlook, Word etc.)
- Knowledge of Sage 50 and Leniac an asset
- Familiarity with a union environment considered an asset
Remuneration:
Competitive salary to be negotiated based on education and experience. Full employer paid health & Welfare benefits and defined pension plan upon successful completion of a probationary period. This is an in-person position with free on-site parking.
