GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Human Resources Generalist supports the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department by providing a wide range of HR services throughout the employee lifecycle. This role is responsible for recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, policy administration, benefits administration, performance management, training coordination, health and safety support, and ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company policies. The HR Generalist acts as a trusted resource for employees and management while fostering a positive, respectful, and inclusive workplace culture.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Recruitment & Staffing

- Coordinate the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, reference checks, and job offers.
- Develop and maintain relationships with recruitment agencies, educational institutions, and community organizations.
- Participate in job fairs and other recruitment initiatives.
- Maintain applicant tracking records and recruitment metrics.
- Coordinate onboarding activities to ensure a positive new hire experience.

Employee Relations

- Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies, procedures, and workplace matters.
- Provide guidance to managers on employee relations issues, conflict resolution, and performance concerns.
- Assist with workplace investigations and document findings appropriately.
- Promote employee engagement initiatives and support a positive workplace culture.

HR Administration

- Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel files.
- Prepare employment letters, contracts, disciplinary documentation, and other HR correspondence.




- Maintain HR databases and ensure employee information is current.
- Generate HR reports and metrics as required.
- Administer employee benefits enrollment, changes, and inquiries.
- Filing and file management.

Training & Development

- Coordinate employee orientation and onboarding programs.
- Assist with training initiatives and professional development programs.
- Track mandatory training completion and certifications.

Health & Safety

- Support workplace health and safety programs and initiatives.
- Participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee activities, where applicable.
- Assist with workplace incident reporting, investigations, and return-to-work programs.

Employee Engagement

- Assist in planning employee recognition programs, wellness initiatives, and company events.
- Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
- Encourage a positive and cooperative work environment.

Other Duties

- Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and company information.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation or working toward certification is considered an asset.

Experience





- 3–5 years of progressive Human Resources experience in a generalist role.
- Experience supporting recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and HR administration.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset.

- Strong understanding of employment legislation and HR best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience using Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).

Working Conditions

- Office environment with occasional travel to other company locations as required.
- Periods of prolonged sitting and computer work.
- Occasional flexibility in hours to support recruitment events, training sessions, or employee meetings.
